Houston Ship Channel is a ship canal running from the Galveston Bay entrance at Bolivar Roads, through Galveston Bay and up the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou estuaries to the Port of Houston. The tide is predominantly diurnal and small, with a mean range of 1.13 ft (0.34 m) at the Morgans Point, Barbours Cut station.
