Bay of Fundy is a bay between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, opening into the Gulf of Maine and the Atlantic Ocean and dividing at its head into Chignecto Bay and the Minas Basin. It has the largest tidal range on Earth,a mean range near 6.2 m (20 ft) at Saint John and about 11.5 m at Burntcoat Head in the Minas Basin, where the recorded mean spring range reaches 14.5 m (47.5 ft).
